Animation, Content Creation, and Video Editing Tools – Advice from Past World of 8 Billion Winners

Looking for the right software to create or edit your World of 8 Billion video? With so many tools out there it might be hard to decide what to use. Check out this list of filmmaking resources used by our 2023-2024 contest winners for some ideas!  

 

Graphic and Animation Tools for Making Videos

Images and animation can add context to your video, which is helpful when you only have one minute to tell your story. The graphic and animation creation tools below will help you create unique images to make your video stand out. 

  • Canva – Create pictures, images, and other designs with Canva’s free tools. You can also record and edit your video using this platform. 
  • Procreate – Design original digital art, animate your images, draw, and add a personal touch to your video. Procreate is available on the app store for $12.99.
  • Scratch – Practice your coding skills while creating the animations for your video with Scratch’s free online platform. 

 

Video Editing and Production Tools 

There are many options to put all the pieces of your video together, from tools for beginners to more advanced editing tools. The tools below will help you produce and edit your video with ease. 

  • CapCut – This free video editing tool can resize videos, assist in color correction, remove backgrounds, and more. 
  • iMovie – If you are using a Mac or an iPhone to film your video, iMovie is a great free choice to edit your video. String clips together, add effects, and upload music to make your video extraordinary. 
  • Adobe Premiere Pro – These editing tools that can take your video to the next level. Add effects, titles, balance the color and picture, and so much more! Adobe Express is the free version of Adobe that is great for creating content and editing. It’s especially useful if you’re just starting to make films! 
    • Adobe Example: Observe LEGOs come to life in this video, An Ancient Invasion, which used Adobe Premiere Pro to animate.
  • WeVideo – This tool has a lot of different options – you can use it to record your video, for editing, and much more. The real-time collaboration function is perfect if you are working with a group. WeVideo has free and paid plans available.
